Cate! Julianne! Reese! Hollywood’s biggest stars graced the red carpet last night at the 88^th Academy Awards, and while the dresses didn’t disappoint (Charlize Theron sizzled in a plunging red Dior gown) it seemed all eyes were fixated north of the neck on the dazzling statement earrings. From white diamonds to emeralds to pearls, A-listers brought their lobes to next level luxe with the array of stunning sparklers.

Julianne Moore’s nearly 13-carat diamond and white gold Chopard circle earrings had an Art Deco-vibe yet felt thoroughly modern thanks to her simple, centre parted hairstyle. Meanwhile, Sofia Vergara opted for Lorraine Schwartz’s white diamond vine earrings with sizable sapphires hanging like fruit from a tree—elegant and eye-popping. But our award for best statement earrings goes to Saoirse Ronan. The Irish-American Oscar nominee’s mismatched white gold Chopard drop earrings, featuring pearls, emeralds, jadeites and diamonds, complimented her shimmering green Calvin Klein Collection gown and added a fresh spin to Old Hollywood glam. We give Ronan’s mismatched look two bejeweled thumbs up, and hope to see more of this cool individualist look on, and off, the red carpet—and IRL.
