As we’re sure you’ve noticed, a celebrity being cast as a big label’s spokesperson usually means that said celeb will be wearing nothing but that label for the duration of their contract. For better or worse, we’re pretty much bound to seeing Jennifer Lawrence in Dior for the next few years. Same goes for Keira Knightley in Chanel. But on days when that doesn’t apply (and don’t ask us how this works), A-listers and their very coveted stylists are starting to get crafty with their wardrobe choices, opting for lesser known names when out at photo calls, press events and interviews.

For those who only recently kick-started their businesses, having a celebrity wearing your designs early in the game is a big deal. Aside from getting a starry stamp of approval, with social media at the helm, designers are getting their names out there a whole lot easier. Exhibit A: Self-Portrait. Founded in 2013 by Malaysian native and Central Saint Martins graduate Han Chong, his collection has recently become the hot ticket. We first caught wind of the London-based contemporary line when Kristen Stewart stepped out in a crochet-knit jumpsuit for her Clouds of Sils Maria screening. Since, we’ve spotted it on everyone from Jenna Dewan-Tatum to Rachel McAdams (twice!).

However, not all of these up-and-coming red carpet favourites are new. In comparison, the recently relaunched Delpozo (the Spanish brand was originally launched in 1974) has seen major celeb pickup from Kiernan Shipka and Julianne Moore amongst others.

Interested in finding out which other designer brands the A-list stars are favouring these days? From playful threads at Fausto Puglisi to feminine lines at Zimmermann, we tracked down 10 designer houses (and its celeb fans) that are becoming new red carpet faves.
