13 of the Wildest Moments (from Amazing to WTF?!) at Fashion Month
by D’Loraine MirandaWith each passing year it seems Fashion Month gets crazier, and the Spring 2017 season is probably the most insane to date. Take, for example, the attacks on Gigi Hadid and Kim Kardashian West, or the fact that models were passing out from exhaustion at Kanye West’s Yeezy presentation. As we bid adieu to the Spring 2017 shows, we’re taking a look back at the wildest moments, from amazing to downright WTF?!
1/13
Young Thug at VFiles
In quite possibly one of the most face-palm-inducing moves, VFiles mentor Young Thug got up mid-show to fix a model’s collar. And because that wasn’t enough, he also busted out an iPad to take pictures during the presentation.
2/13
Gigi and Lauren Hutton at Bottega Veneta
To fete its 50th anniversary, the Italian luxury brand made headlines with its surprise finale featuring Gigi Hadid and Lauren Hutton.
3/13
Yeezy Spring 2017
Although we feel for the models who were stumbling on the runway (nobody should have to endure that), the fact that some of them were passing out due to exhaustion from the heat was truly unacceptable. Period.
4/13
Gigi Hadid gets ambushed in Milan
Post Max Mara show, Hadid was attacked by prankster Vitalii Sediuk, reminding us to be aware of our surroundings. Hadid addressed the incident a few days later with a diplomatic and well-written essay via Lenny Letter.
5/13
Kim Kardashian West gets ambushed in Paris
After Gigi Hadid’s surprise ambush in Milan, Kim Kardashian West was attacked in Paris by Sediuk (yes, him… AGAIN). Sediuk targeted Kardashian West as she was heading into L’Avenue. This isn’t Kardashian’s first encounter with Sediuk—she was ambushed by him in 2014 at a Balmain show.
6/13
The kids of Stranger Things at Louis Vuitton
Fans of Stranger Things went wild after Louis Vuitton posted this shot of Nicolas Ghesquière with Caleb McLaughlin, Gaeten Matarazzo and Millie Bobby Brown on its Instagram account.
7/13
Gucci Mane chats with Vogue
OK, so this technically didn’t happen at the shows, but Vogue surprised us all with its video featuring the one and only Guwop dishing on the latest Gucci collection. In case you haven’t seen the video, check it out here. You won’t regret it.
8/13
Bella Hadid at Michael Kors
There’s a first for everything. Turns out this was the season that Bella Hadid would take her inaugural tumble. And bless her for laughing it off and getting up. We’re all about good sportsmanship. We love you, Bella.
9/13
The front row at Dolce & Gabbana
A posse of cool millennials (there were 21 of them!) occupied the front row of Dolce & Gabbana‘s show. Among them were Cameron Dallas, Sofia Richie and Lucky Blue Smith.
10/13
Dolce & Gabbana’s post-show dinner party
And because a front row of millennials wasn’t enough, Dolce & Gabbana shut down Via Montenapoleone to host an opulent 400-guest dinner.
11/13
Naomi Campbell at Versace
Our favourite ’90s supe made a cameo at Versace and owned the runway with her signature strut.
12/13
Alexander Wang’s after party
In addition to being filled with celeb appearances (Madonna, Kylie Jenner, Zoe Kravitz, etc.), Alexander Wang’s after party included a pop-up 7/11 shop, as well as a McDonalds food truck. Death to the swag bag.
13/13
Paris Hilton at Philipp Plein
Akin to, but nowhere near comparable in coolness to, the #wangsquad, we were introduced to Philipp Plein’s #PleinSquad. Who’s in it, you ask? Some VS models and Paris Hilton (lol).
