“I spent the first two weeks of July with a close friend in Ibiza, Spain. She lives on the island for “the season” (an ambiguous way of saying ‘six months’) as a personal assistant to an artist-in-residence (a Bougie way of saying ‘DJ’) at eponymous club, DC 10. Gorgeous beaches – some packed with parasols, and others completely isolated – eclectic shops like vintage ‘Le Studio’ and Sluiz (think Opening Ceremony meets Alice in Wonderland), and delicious restaurants (ie. the Fish shack, situated on the side of a cliff).”

“For as long as I can remember I have wanted to visit the Greek Islands. Everything from the tranquil blue and white hues, to the breathtaking views and sunsets enticed me. This summer we pulled the trigger and had the most incredible time in Santorini and Mykonos. Greece was extra special for me, as I got proposed to by my long-time boyfriend in the most perfect backdrop. Definitely a trip I will never forget!”

“Iceland is the most epic place I have been to date. Drove and hiked/camped the entire ring road. The most diverse scenery I have ever seen in one week. I recommend it to everyone.”

“Going on a cruise in the Mediterranean is like going to the movie theatres and watching just the trailer. You get the gist of what each port is about, but you definitely miss out on the gems that make you fall in love with the city. But for Barcelona, it only took a paella, a café con leche and this mosaic wonderland (aka Gaudi’s Park Güell) to instantly call it one of my all-time faves on my travel list.”

summer travel instagram portugal suzie michael
“I was in Portugal for two glorious weeks last month and traveled to a different city or town every few days. Near the end of the trip, my girlfriends and I made our way to Lagos, a small town in the Algarve, and spent the day along the water eating octopus (bless).
However, Lagos is a total beach town, meaning the main beaches are pretty crowded and…underwhelming (think Wasaga). So we did some exploring and found that if we walked to the end of the last beach and swam through some caves, there were a few hidden, more private beaches tucked away. So we picked the least crowded one (there were only about 8 other people there) and enjoyed the insane view until the sun went down.”

“This has been the summer of mini getaways. Quick trips to the cottage, a couple of Montreal escapes and a day trip to Niagara Falls helped make the most of my long, steamy weekends. Decked out in our red ponchos aboard the Hornblower boat tour, there was no better way to cool off than a face full of mist from the falls.”

“One of the best things I’ve learned about living in New York is being able to escape the madness on weekend. The Hamptons were my getaway this summer – luckily being able to escape work early on Friday’s to beat the dreaded traffic from the 495 to my archenemies – the single lane 27 highway. Lessons learned: I drank too much, ate too much, and talked about working out too much (too much talking and not enough doing, Yale). See you in 2016, Sag Harbor.”

“I was only there for a day, but the unparalleled beauty that is Venice at sunset took me by complete surprise. This photo is so surreal, I feel like it’s just me superimposed on-top of a Turner painting!”

“Ended the summer with a juice cleanse and colonics at We Care. It’s the most incredible place. I’m clean as a whistle and ready to ReTox!”

“My favourite place I travelled to this past summer was Ibiza. I was pleasantly surprised by its Spanish charm and overall beauty, especially when you head into Old Town. Its quaint winding cobblestone roads and overflowing flower balconies make it a fairy tale.”

“Here is a photo of my son Max and me on the west coast of Ireland, near Sneem, this summer. We visited the UK for a family wedding in Bath, and it turned into a great adventurous road trip across Europe! Trip of a lifetime. Lots of fish and chips, balanced with walks on the beaches, hikes and kayaking through beautiful landscape.”

“I tagged along on a law conference in London and left the incredible city well acquainted with British department stores. A week in London allowed me to pop over to Paris for the first time. While my visit was less than 48 hours and happened to fall during a heat wave (Parisian chic-ness was not achieved) the view from my Airbnb of a typical Parisian street left me wanting more of this magical city.”

summer travel instagram positano nicole shaeffer
“At the start of the summer, my boyfriend and I traveled to Italy for two weeks, hitting up Venice, Florence, and Rome, but without a doubt my favourite city was Positano. Winding along the Amalfi Coast and shooting out into this gorgeous town nestled into the side of a cliff was an unforgettable experience—every view was impossibly picturesque (not to mention the workout you get from climbing 300 stairs just to reach to your apartment)! Definitely a bucket list place to visit.”

summer travel instagram peru bojana sentaler
“Since we source the beautiful alpaca fabrics for the Sentaler collections from Peru, I am lucky to be able to visit this hidden gem a couple of times a year. It has become my second home and I am always discovering new things Peru has to offer. Starting with the must-see Machu-Picchu and beautiful beaches of Mancora. Then to the world-class gastronomy, where ceviche and tiradito has originated, Peru should be on everyone’s list of place to see.”

summer travel instagram awenda provincial park jacquelyn francis
“I love the outdoors and in the summer I’m either camping or cottaging near a lake because it’s important to enjoy Canada when the weather is actually half decent. Every year we visit Awenda Provincial Park on Georgian Bay near Penetanguishene. By night I sleep under the stars, and by day, watch my boys turn a deep brown. (Don’t judge. Hats and sunblock can only do so much when they’re outside all day.) This year we did a 5K hike through old growth forests and tumbled out of these deep dark woods onto a boardwalk over a marsh surrounded by tall grass swaying in the hot sun. It felt like a film still.”

“My husband and two teenage boys spent a lazy week in an Exclusive Resorts villa in Grand Cayman. We fell in love with the island, which is very laid back – no gambling, no nightclubs, fabulous restaurants, casual dress code. We drove our golf cart to The Ritz Carlton everyday and rented a cabana on the beach where we lolled around in the turquoise blue water. We loved the villa lifestyle, especially the iguanas that came for daily visits. I discovered a new hashtag – #iguanasofInstagram!”

“We just bought our cottage near Algonquin Park in December and try to go almost every weekend. It’s on a private lake and VERY quiet; a great change from busy Toronto streets.”
