22 Co-Stars Who Dated IRL (and are Still Going Strong)
In latest celebrity couple news, rumour has it Riverdale‘s Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart (who play Jughead and Betty respectively) are currently dating. The co-stars were reportedly looking cozy at San Diego’s Comic-Con 2017 and “were very open with their PDA at parties during the event, and close friends did not seem surprised.” According to People, the rumoured couple was caught holding hands on route to Vancouver, where the TV show is currently filming season two. Cue the awws.
Now, co-stars dating co-stars is no new thing. In fact, we see it happen on the regular. With a script writer handing you the right lines and a director overlooking the perfect timing and setting, we’re surprised it doesn’t happen more often. (But we guess that’s why you call them professional actors.)
While more often than not we do speculate whether these conscious couplings are stunts set up by clever PRs (you know, to get us all warm and fuzzy so we then check out the movie in theatres because let’s face it, we’re all suckers for IRL rom coms), not all are fake. In fact there have been many adorable cases when a few of our fave co-stars we’ve shipped on screen ended up falling in love off screen. #bless.
But as we’ve seen in recent Hollywood history, it doesn’t always work out in the long run (read: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck and the list goes on). Needless to say, our hearts are still breaking.
But before you go and assume all co-stars’ relationships are ill-fated, like any rule in this world, there are always exceptions. Here are 22 of our fave TV show and movie co-stars who are still very much together IRL.
