5 celebs who were gifted luxe push presents after giving birth (yup, it’s not just a Kim thing)
Like hieroglyphics and aliens, push presents are one of the world’s biggest mysteries. How expectant women can get their partners to pony up a pricey prezzie (usually bling or a designer bag) for doing something that we’ve been doing since the beginning of time—giving birth—is nothing short of a miracle. I know, I know, the little bundle of joy is the actual miracle, but somewhere along the way (in history and in pregnancy) the push present got, ahem, pushed out into mainstream vernacular, along with other cool mommy must-haves, like the Bugaboo stroller and the designer diaper bag.
Before Kim Kardashian gave birth to her son, Saint, last December, she shared her push present wish list with the world (like we cared. Okay, we actually did). Considering that chokers were her go-to preggo accessory, we weren’t exactly shocked that she wanted one from Kanye for becoming a second-time mom. “This pregnancy I would love a Lorraine Schwartz diamond choker like the ones I’ve worn before to the Art + Film Gala,” she wrote on her website. She posted an inspo shot of said statement piece on Instagram, too. Clearly, Kanye stopped his Twitter ranting long enough to make his baby mama’s wish come true. Kim debuted her Karma El Khalil Love Choker—a custom diamond piece that spells out S-A-I-N-T—while out and about in L.A. earlier this week.
The invention of the push present has been met with controversy, but whether you are for, against, or in the midst of shopping for one, these little (or large) tokens of appreciation are now a part of the what-to-expect-when-you’re-expecting convo. Labour pain has officially taken on a whole new meaning. Here are 5 celeb moms who have taken the push present into next-level luxe.
