5 Items in Our Fashion Editor’s Shopping Cart This Week
The snow has nearly melted and spring is officially eight days away. Daylight saving has given us the confidence to bare our ankles and we’re already thinking about our outfits come patio season. From weekend to workwear, my shopping cart is full of pieces I’ll live in all season long. Chunky loafers top my list as an investment piece but the cost per wear will make this updated classic well worth it. Seasonal prints take a lower price point and I can’t wait for you to try my new favourite jeans that are under $100.
Scroll through for 5 items I’m coveting this week.
Leather Lug Healed Loafers, $1,035, Prada
With just enough height to keep my toes out of spring puddles, these lug sole loafers are high on my hit list. Worn with a wide trouser or dainty floral dress and white socks, they will easily make it into regular rotation.
Gingham Dress, $50, Zara
Inspired by the gingham spotted all over the SS20 runways (and my general love for the pattern), this is the dress I will turn to for many bridal showers, baby showers and even weekend walks. Whether I dress it up as an occasion piece with kitten heels or pair it with loafers or sneakers for a more casual look, it can be styled for every mood.
Tiny Pearl Necklace, $110, Mejuri.
A delicate pearl necklace is the perfect unexpected piece to add to the layered gold chains I live in. The small irregularly shaped strand proves pearls aren’t too precious for everyday.
Black Puff Sleeve Blouse, $189, Eliza Faulkner.
Supporting Canadian designers is important to me, so this Eliza Faulkner blouse that is designed and made in Canada checks multiple boxes. The voluminous sleeves make a statement and the elastic neckline means it can be styled off the shoulder. It’s also machine washable which is a major bonus.
High Rise Cheeky Straight Jeans, $90, Gap.
Get ready to find your denim soulmate. Might as well leave these on your bedroom chair since you’ll be wearing them all the time. This pair is cut just high enough in the waist and grazes your hips before finishing in a slim but straight leg. The soft wash makes them the type of jean you never want to take off – not to mention they are part of Gap’s Washwell™ program helping to conserve water in the denim making process.
