5 Travel Inspired Pieces to Wear at Home
One of the perks of working from home is the rather lenient dress code. Aside from video conference calls that may require a cute top, sweater or accessory, the WFH environment is designed by you. In the past few days I’ve found myself daydreaming about future adventures and vacations with my toes in the sand. My beach fantasy wouldn’t be complete without a vacation wardrobe so while I may be perched between my dining table and couch, I’ve got enough pieces at home to make one half of the fantasy reality. I’m not quite at the point of wearing a bathing suit in the bathtub but scroll down for my round-up of travel-inspired pieces to help you (mentally) sail away this week:
Matisse boyfriend shirt, $310 and shorts, $195, Silk Laundry.
This matching oversized silk blouse and tap short are the perfect loungerwear combo for now but would also make great beach attire. Work it with socks or slippers this week and sleek slides for a night out in the future.
Gossip sunglasses,$149, BonLook.
A glam pair of sunglasses make me feel like I’m lounging under a striped umbrella with a Aperol Spritz in hand but also cover up the bags under my eyes that haven’t seen a hint of concealer in 3 weeks.
The Group by Babaton calipso button-up, $110, Aritzia
A tropical print can brighten any mood and this oversized button-down looks like something I’ve picked up on a past trip. Today I’ll sport it with grey sweatpants and tall socks but I’ll be dreaming of the day it’s worn over a bikini.
Organic cotton long bouclé terry robe, $125, Miiyu at Simons.
There’s no better feeling than wrapping yourself into a cozy hotel robe. Bring this simple luxury home with a plush piece to make every morning (or even meeting) a little more bearable.
Flared sleep shirt in black linen, $305, The Sleep Shirt.
Linen screams vacation wardrobe to me, so this A-line dress (which can also be worn as a nightshirt) is a no brainer. With sleeves to shield over-sunned shoulders and a loose silhouette, this piece is on my packing list. Plus, the Canadian brand, The Sleep Shirt, is also offering Care Packages with $15 from each sale going towards Food Banks Canada.
