7 YouTubers Who Launched Their Own Fashion Lines
Before Youtube was a thing, fashion lovers had a limited audience for their massive hauls and OOTDs (viewers included their friends, parents, maybe a pet if they were lucky). Once the site was born, fashion vloggers quickly rose to stardom. All it took was a shopping spree, an hour or two in front of a camera, some editing and an audience who could relate to their favourite fashion finds.
The opportunity to reach out to millions of people at once was a definite game changer. Some Youtubers have taken the medium to the next level by starting a personal fashion line. Their retail success is largely due to their massive YouTube subscriber count. We’ve picked out seven vloggers whose fashion lines went above and beyond our expectations.
Carli Bybel aka CarliBel55
Bybel collaborated with Missguided to create a clothing line featured on Missguided.com. Always with a pastel colour palette and clean lines, the garments have been hugely popular. She started her Youtube channel in 2011 with makeup tutorials taken from a webcam and has over 5 million subscribers today.
Samantha Maria aka beautycrush
Maria launched a London-based collection, NovemKnight, with fiancé Jason Davis in 2014. Inspired by their love for fashion, the pair created simple clothing that they say is made perfectly for consumers to apply their own unique style.
Connor Franta
If you’re looking for trendy bomber jackets, sweatshirts, hats (and everything else young people seem to die for) Franta has you covered. His clothing line is sold at Urban Outfitters and Commonculture.com.
Jen Chae aka From Head to Toe
Chae’s ring collection, Gravity, is featured on the Canadian website Mejuri. Next to hundreds of other sleek jewellery options, the angular shapes and arrows made with gold vermeil (not to be mistaken for gold plating) have a way of standing out.
Bethany Noel Mota aka MacBarbie07
Mota’s clothing line, featuring bold designs and patterns, catered to a younger audience and was an Aeropostale staple since 2013. Sadly, her last collection for the company was released in 2016. You can still find her on Youtube posting away.
Arika Sato
28-year-old Sato knows how to look sexy in street wear, so why not share her gift with others? The fashion Youtuber designs clothes that help women look their best. Her robe collection is particularity lovely and you can find it at arikasato.com.
Blair Fowler aka juicystar07
Fowler is a Youtube oldie (she was doing hauls before people even knew about Youtube). In 2012, she released a shoe collection with her sister Elle Fowler on justfab.ca. Recently, Fowler has moved to Etsy (BlairFowlerDesigns) where she manages her own product line which includes tees, tanks and sweatshirts.
