Afternoon beauty fix: 3 steps to make your small eyes look bigger

Do you have any tips on how to make small eyes appear larger with makeup?
The clever use of champagne-coloured eyeshadows and eyeliners can make your eyes look larger—a little smoke and mirrors—via their reflective properties which add brightness to your gaze. The first step is to apply an off-white cream shadow, such as CoverGirl Intense ShadowBlast in “Beige Blaze” ($12, at drugstores) or Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow in “Glacier” ($24, at Holt Renfrew) over your entire eyelid. Then apply a mid-tone shadow, like Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in “R.S.V.P.” ($19, at Shoppers Drug Mart) along your crease and below your lower lash line to add definition. Your sneakiest tool is a nude liner (and by “nude” we mean a liner that matches the colour of your foundation), such as Tarte Eymphaseyes Inner Rim Brightener ($18, tartecosmetics.com). When applied along your waterline, it will give your eyes a brighter, wider look. Pulling this trick off requires no sleight of hand, just light, bright, and a few healthy coats of mascara!
