Alanis Morissette Just Announced a Jagged Little Pill 25th Anniversary Tour

In 1995, Alanis Morissette released her first worldwide album, Jagged Little Pill, and became a global superstar. The album went on to win five Grammy Awards, and is one of the best-selling albums of all time. Next year marks 25 years of the iconic album—which features some of her biggest hits, like “Ironic,” “You Oughta Know” and “Hand In My Pocket”—and the singer is celebrating the milestone with a big North American tour.

Today, she announced the dates for 31 stops on the 2020 tour, starting with Portland, Oregon on June 2 and ending in Nashville, Tennessee on July 25. July 11 marks her only Canadian stop on the tour, at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage. Pre-sales for the tour will begin on December 10 at 11am local time and tickets will go on sale to the general public on December 13 at 11am local time.

Aside from her past hits, Morissette will also be performing music from a new album while on tour. Such Pretty Forks in the Road, her ninth album—and first album of new material since 2012—is set for release in May 2020. The first single from this new album, “Reasons I Drink,” was released today.

Morissette will be joined on tour by singer Liz Phair and alt-rock band Garbage. News of her anniversary tour comes just days before the Jagged Little Pill Broadway musical, written by Oscar-winner Diablo Cody and inspired by Morissette’s award-winning album, hits New York’s Broadhurst Theatre this Thursday.
