Amber Heard Wore an Under-the-Radar Canadian Jewellery Brand to the Met Gala

Amber Heard stunned at this week’s Met Gala in a formfitting crimson Carolina Herrera gown. The actress completed her look with an ornate golden halo and two mismatched earrings, one of which is by Canadian jeweller Dean Davidson. Heard wore the brand’s Ipanema earring in Cranberry Quartz.  “It’s an honour I can’t describe to see my work on the stunning and talented Amber Heard at [this year’s] Met Gala – an event I’ve followed passionately for years. It’s the most important night of the year when it comes to fashion so it’s a thrill to be a part of it all,”  Davidson said in a statement.

Davidson launched his namesake brand in 2007, and gained international recognition in 2016 when Sophie Grégoire Trudeau wore several pieces while making an official visit to the White House. Trudeau has since worn their jewellery on multiple occasions, including our March 2017 cover.

The Toronto-based label has now become a favourite amongst the Hollywood elite, with customers including Oprah Winfrey, Janelle Monae and Jennifer Lopez. Davidson’s jewellery is now sold in 250 stores worldwide and he has been twice nominated for Accessory Designer of the Year at the Canadian Art & Fashion Awards.
