Anna Wintour is Designing Sneakers for Nike

Anna Wintour, noted tennis enthusiast, has put her signature stamp of approval on a new model of Nike sneakers, set to launch July 21st. The shoes, classic puffy Air Jordans with zippers instead of laces, bear the initials ‘AWOK’ for ‘Anna Wintour Okay,’ the signature she uses to sign off pages of the magazine at Vogue. The magazine reports that they will earn “a portion of proceeds from the sale of these sneakers.” The timing of this collaboration is…interesting to say the least, considering rumours regarding the longtime editor’s departure from Vogue have reached fever pitch. Kylie Jenner is Set to be the World’s Youngest Billionaire

Kylie Jenner, who recently removed her notorious lip fillers (at least partially), is on the cover of Forbes magazine for her outrageous accomplishment of becoming (probably) the richest 20-year-old on the planet. Forbes ballparks Kylie’s net worth at $900 million and suggests it will reach a billionaire by the end of 2019 if Kylie Cosmetics continues to grow as planned. Kylie is handily the richest Kardashian – her sister Kim has a reported net worth of only $350 million. (Forbes)

Two Longtime Staffers Depart Vogue

For months, sources have speculated that the end of Anna Wintour’s  30-year reign as editor-in-chief of Vogue will come to an end this year. While Vogue continues to stay mum on the subject of HR developments, it appears the regime change has already begun. Tonne Goodman (above middle), the magazine’s fashion director, and Phyllis Posnick (above right), executive fashion editor, who have been at Vogue since 2000 and 1987 respectively, are both set to take on “reduced roles” at magazine. Both Posnick and Goodman are print magazine stalwarts and their departures may be related to declining ad sales revenue. According to the Alliance for Audited Media, Vogue’s average single-copy sales decreased 46 percent year-over-year in the last six months of 2017. It makes sense for Condé Nast to get rid of the staffers who command the highest salaries first. Cue the Bob Dylan because times, they are a-changing. (Business of Fashion)

J. Crew Teams Up with Universal Standard to Offer Extended Sizing

Universal Standard, the size-inclusive startup offering sizes 6-32, has teamed up with J. Crew to help the retailer offer a range of extended sizing that goes up to size 5x. The collaboration will begin with a small capsule collection of size-inclusive pieces and marks the beginning of a collaboration that will ensure all of J. Crew’s offerings will available in a more inclusive range of sizing. The brand’s chief merchandising officer Lisa Greenwald says that the collection will be “seamlessly integrated” into J. Crew’s offerings rather than relegating plus-size to a separate section of the store. The collaboration is billing itself as “the first of its kind” to offer garment sizing from 00 to 32, but technically that honour already goes to Canadian Roxy Earle’s collection for Le Chateau, which offers sizes 0 to 22.
