Arc’teryx is Now Offering Immersive Travel Experiences
Ever wanted to climb the Dolomites in Italy? Do you dream about trekking through the Yukon or running past the lakes and glaciers of Wyoming? If so, Arc’teryx’s new Trips initiative will be right up your alley.
The Vancouver-based outerwear and sporting goods company is now offering immersive travel experiences designed to give participants unrivalled access to wild places. Available for booking this fall, the Summer/Fall 2020 program—which will run from June through September—features guided, small group trips to 10 wildly remote destinations around the world. Each of the Trips is centred around the main sports Arc’teryx makes products for, including mountaineering, trail running, rock climbing, and hiking/trekking.
The first round of excursions includes a trail running journey through the mountainous Chilcotins region of British Columbia; rock-climbing in Wyoming’s Grand Tetons National Park; trekking through the Yukon’s Tombstone Territorial Park; and running along the cliffs and coasts of Corsica. The Wyoming experience is offered exclusively to female climbers, while the Chilcotins excursion will also offer a departure exclusively for female runners.
“What differentiates the Arc’teryx Trips program from other adventure travel programs is that we are focused on offering trips to off-the-beaten-path locations where participants can experience and enjoy a sense of remoteness, and truly immerse themselves in nature’s playground,” says Jurgen Watts, Senior Manager of Brand Partnerships at Arc’teryx. “We have also enlisted the services of world-class guides, who are equipped to deliver a remarkable experience, both from a skills perspective and a local knowledge perspective. Each of our Trips offerings are also priced comprehensively; participants just have to get themselves to the starting point, and we take care of the rest, from guiding and transportation to meals and accommodations.”
According to a press release, “all of the guides chosen to lead each trip are either IFMGA (International Federation of Mountain Guides Association), ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides) or AMGA (American Mountain Guide Association)-certified to ensure trip attendees receive the best in safety, local knowledge and skills development.”
A key ingredient in enjoying any sort of travel experience is ensuring you’re properly equipped for it. Leading up to the the Arc’teryx trips, the brand will offer concierge fitting and product consultations at their retail stores. “We also hope to integrate product demos for Trip participants, so they can try out relevant products that are activity-specific to each trip,” says Watts.
Individual experiences will be open for registration from October 15 and depending on the destination, space will be available for between four to 12 guests. The cost for each Arc’teryx Trips experience will range from $3,000 to $8,000 CAD per person, including taxes. You can find more information about the program here.
