Archie Mountbatten-Windsor Makes His Royal Tour Debut, And It’s The Cutest Thing You’ll See All Day
The moment most of the world has been waiting for over the past 48 hours since the Sussex family landed in South Africa has arrived – baby Archie has made his royal tour debut. And to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu, no less.
Meghan and Harry shared a sweet clip of the pair walking to meet Tutu, a Nobel Peace Prize winner for his opposition of the apartheid, showing a smiley and happy Archie. The video was captioned “Arch meets Archie.”
Harry and Meghan excitedly brought little Archie with them to the @TutuLegacy Foundation at one of Cape Town’s oldest building, The Old Granary. They were greeted by @TheDesmondTutu and daughter Thandeka. pic.twitter.com/XXHTKEChhg

Another photo shared on the account showed the Archbishop tenderly kissing Archie’s head whilst mum Meghan (wearing a Club Monaco dress) proudly looked on. Meghan and Harry wrote, “Thank you Archbishop Tutu for your incredibly warm hospitality, Archie loved meeting you!”
Archie (who looks remarkably like his father at the same age) sat on Meghan’s lap as they joined Archbishop Tutu and his daughter Thandeka at the Desmond & Lea Tutu Legacy Foundation, which was founded in 2013 to help foster leadership amongst the youth and foster discussions on social justice. It marked a rare appearance from the renowned figure, who retired from public appearances in the late 90s, according to royal correspondent Omid Scobie.
Following the engagement, Meghan then had two solo events. The first was at Work In Progress, a UK-SA tech hub, where she met with female entrepreneurs who are working to develop South Africa’s digital economic growth. The second was with mothers2mothers, a non-government organization which works to “eliminate paediatric AIDS and create healthy families by employing women living with HIV as #MentorMothers,” according to its Twitter bio. For the final two events of the day, Meghan pulled her hair back into her signature centre-parted low bun, and wore a black jumpsuit by Everlane with earrings from GAS Bijoux.
