Ariana Grande Is the Youngest Headliner Ever in Coachella’s History
Ariana Grande just became the fourth woman in history to headline the Coachella music festival—after Beyonce in 2018, Lady Gaga in 2017 and Bjork in 2002 and 2007. Not only that, as her manager Scooter Braun posted on Instagram, the 25-year-old is the youngest headliner EVER in Coachella’s 20-year existence.
According to Elle, “Grande replaces Kanye West, who TMZ reports was originally supposed to headline the festival.” Apparently festival producers refused to alter or change the standard 60×40 foot stage that all the bands would be performing on, which West found “artistically limiting.”
Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover and Tame Impala are the two other headliners for the festival, which will be held over two weekends in April 2019, and artists like Solange, Janelle Monae, Diplo and Kid Cudi are also scheduled to perform.
