Azealia Banks is Alexander Wang’s new T girl, obviously

It comes as no surprise that rap-loving cool kid Alexander Wang has nabbed everyone’s favourite rapper du jour Azealia Banks as the face of his latest T campaign.

The Fall 2012 campaign, which was directed by Daniel Jackson and styled by Alastair McKim, went live today exclusively on Style.com. The mostly black-and-white advert shows a pouty-lipped Banks whipping her hair and flashing her amazing smile while rapping through “Van Vogue,” a single off her recent EP 1991.

“She exudes a certain rawness that makes her a very unique talent,” Wang told Style.com. “I loved working with her on this video for T Fall 2012, and think the collaboration captures a collision of energies.”

Aside from having become the next big thing in music, Banks is cementing her role as a fashion darling too. She accompanied Wang to the Met Gala this year, sparking rumours that the two had a collaboration in the works, as well as providing him with music for his Spring 2012 AW campaign featuring Liya Kebede. Wang’s not the only designer who’s taken note of her either: Karl Lagerfeld wrangled Banks into doing a private concert at his home too.

Not only does this campaign have us excited for all of Wang’s latest covetable T offerings, but it gets us even more excited about Banks’s September release of her debut album Broke With Expensive Taste!
