Billie Lourd Breaks Silence Following Deaths of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds
Billie Lourd has broken her silence one week after the tragic deaths of her mother, Carrie Fisher, and grandmother, Debbie Reynolds.
The 24-year-old Scream Queens star took to Instagram Monday to thank her fans for all of their prayers and support.
“Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist,” she captioned the photo of herself, Fisher and Reynolds. “There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my one and only Momby. Your love and support means the world to me.”
Fisher, who was best known for her iconic role as Princess Leia in Star Wars, died Dec. 27 after reportedly going into cardiac arrest on a flight to Los Angeles from London. She was 60. One day later, her mother, Reynolds, 84, died after suffering a stroke, which occurred while she was planning her daughter’s funeral. According to TMZ, the Singing in the Rain star’s last words were, “I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie.”
Following the deaths of the two Hollywood legends, messages of support poured in for Lourd, with several of her Scream Queen co-stars showing their love.
“I love you so very much @praisethelourd. my heart is with you & your family,” wrote Ariana Grande.
“Holding my dear friend billie, and her sweet mommy Carrie in my heart right now..” said Lea Michele.
Jamie Lee Curtis also took to social media to express her sympathies and to ask the media to “please give [Billie] space.”
There are no words. Just that we all want 2 surround Billie with loving strength & support. Please give her space media. Please. Please.
