When it comes to celebrating your own, no one does it quite like the Brits. Last night, the annual British Fashion Awards took place and it seemed glitzier than ever, with everyone from Rihanna to Lana Del Rey in attendance. Celebrating the best in, you guessed it, homegrown talent, winners of last night’s awards included Cara Delevingne for Model of the Year, Emma Watson for British Style and the super buzzy Marques’Almeida, who won for Best Emerging Womenswear Label. London transplant (BUT CANADIAN BORN!), Erdem, took home the night’s award for Best Womenswear Designer, while Nicolas Ghesquière nabbed the coveted International Designer award for Louis Vuitton. Last night was also marked John Galliano‘s first major appearance since being announced as Maison Martin Margiela‘s new creative director. There to present a Lifetime Achievement Award to Anna Wintour (who was conveniently dressed head-to-toe in Margiela which is nicely analyzed here), he talked of Wintour’s constant support over the years. That support has never been as important (or clear) as right now.
