Ice is nice, and eye-catching baubles are the mainstay at recently opened Diamond Boutique (Mount Royal Village, 816 16th Ave. SW, Calgary, 403-251-1167, diamondboutique.ca).

Specializing in custom-designed rings, bangles, necklaces and earrings, the shop’s pieces range from basic and beautiful to outright bling. My pick: this bloom of a diamond ring ($10,700), featuring 316 stones for a total weight of 3.04 carats.
