Chanel Cruise 2016: See the best-dressed stars in Seoul + top runway looks
Today might as well be known as Asia’s fashion takeover: While New York is prepping for tonight’s Chinese-themed Met Gala, Karl Lagerfeld flew Chanel’s much-anticipated Cruise 2016 collection to Seoul, South Korea’s capital city.
While the models (with Soo Joo Park at the helm) trickled down the runway in a kaleidoscope of colours and traditional Korean hairstyles, the celebs, on the other hand, opted to go down the monochromatic route for front row looks. Choosing pieces from the Salzburg Métier d’Arts collection, two of Korea’s biggest music entertainers went head-to-head in a battle of who accessorized their best black and white outfit best. Im Yoona added a pop of red to her look via Chanel Boy bag, while singer and rapper, Lee Chae Rin (South Korea’s hip hop queen) draped her Lolita-like outfit with a never-ending supply of pearls. TV goddess Han Ye Seul has us starry-eyed, thanks to her crop top and midi skirt combo.
A Chanel show is never complete without its brand ambassadors. Though she’s hung up her runway shoes for good, Gisele Bündchen is far from leaving the fashion world. The former model and Chanel No. 5 spokesperson opted for a casual, head-to-toe black look that exuded plenty of class. But leading the all-black outfit pack was none other than our fave, Kristen Stewart. Looking particularly warrior-like, KStew was statuesque in her little black sheer dress.
