Chanel Drops its Eco-Conscious No. 1 Range + More Beauty News
No. 1 de Chanel is here and its a full range of eco-minded skincare, makeup and fragrance
After ten years of development, Chanel released No.1 this week, a new range of skincare and makeup and a fragrance mist based on sustainable initiatives and extracts from the red camellia flower. The standout Revitalizing Serum contains 95 per cent natural ingredients, 76 per cent of which are derived from the red camellia. The flower, which Chanel harvests by hand on sustainable and organic farms in Gaujacq in the south of France, was chosen not only as a long-standing icon of the brand, but also for its long-studied positive effects on “senescence.” The latter refers to when your cells stop effectively dividing and being released from your body (which is required for skin repair and a younger-looking complexion) largely due to environmental stressors. No. 1 is also being presented in reduced packaging with partly-recycled materials (some of which include camellia seed shells) and ditching its traditional cellophane wraps and paper inserts. Since the red camellia is actually a naturally odourless plant, the entire range including the fragrance mist is scented with a combination of rose, jasmine, orange flower and juicy red fruit notes, created by famed Chanel nose Olivier Polge.
A new copper peptide serum from Biossance
Squalene-based brand Biossance has become a skincare favourite thanks to its natural ingredient list and celeb fan base. (Reese Witherspoon liked it so much she became a global ambassador for the brand and we’re sure we’re not the only ones to have spotted it as a favourite on the latest Queer Eye season thanks to fellow brand supporter JVN.) While squalene itself is a plant-derived substance with mega-hydrating properties, Biossance’s latest serum has been super-charged with copper peptides that support collagen production and help to improve skin’s elasticity. The copper peptide also lends the serum a unique, natural blue hue which somehow makes it feel extra refreshing when you smooth it on.
Pat McGrath Labs and Bridgerton serve up the makeup collection of our #Duchessdreams
Just when you thought all holiday frivolity was lost, two joy triggers have joined forces thanks to a collaboration between Shondaland, Netflix and legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath for the release of the new Bridgerton x Pat McGrath Labs collection. In anticipation of Bridgerton’s season two premiere on March 25, the Regency-inspired makeup features royally outfitted (in Bridgerton blue, no less) palettes for the eyes, cheeks and face that are truly fit for a Duchess.

Dermalogica launches a new eye gel just in time for another work week
Waking up in pitch dark, frigid conditions in order to get to work on time doesn’t always inspire enthusiasm for kicking off the day on a high note. However, this week Dermalogica threw its hat in the ring with its new Awaken Peptide Eye Gel which contains the all-important “but first, caffeine” to help with puffiness, as well as tetrapeptides and rosemary leaf extract which work to refresh and brighten tired eyes, as well as reduce the appearance of fine lines over time. Ready, steady: join meeting.
