Dispatch from Milan: The power of the flower at D&G
If the seed package and botanically-inspired invitation wasn’t enough of a clue, D&G‘s garden runway, chock full of fresh roses and peonies, was all you needed to get the theme of their spring collection, and fresh and adorable it was! The message was loud and clear: Life’s a picnic! And why not, when you’re decked out in head-to-toe floral chiffon, gingham head scarves, crocheted lace, brightly-coloured canvas totes, aprons, blooming bloomers, woven gingham wedgies and wellies. Sweet!
And while we’re out in the garden: Alberta Ferretti (Milan’s reigning queen of pretty) showed her garden of earthly delights with a romantic, bohemian collection of soft, floor grazing floral chiffon skirts and loose and languid crochet sweaters and pretty peasant tops all topped off with subtle seventies straw hats and grounded with flat sandals.
