Drama Detectives: What Was Blue Ivy Snacking On At The Grammys?
Sunday night’s Grammys were kind of a snooze fest. But three days later, there’s one thing about the show we’re still talking about: Blue Ivy Carter. Between calming down her superstar parents, carrying a $2,700 Valentino clutch, and munching on snacks, the six-year-old daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z secured her place in the centre of the spotlight.

There were SO. MANY. MEMES. But there is one very important, unanswered question that needs addressing: What was Blue Ivy snacking on? What kind of snacks does Beyonce have in her bag? (Swag.)
Because I take my job very seriously, I set out to investigate the mystery. As the designated snack provider at our office, I was confident in my ability to identify snack brand packaging. I know my snacks and I watch a lot of Criminal Minds— how hard could it be?
First step: zoom in. Using photoshop, I cropped the photo. (I learned this stealthy technique from Penelope Garcia.)
Already, I recognized the small purple bag. Beyonce–now and forever known as Blue Ivy’s designated snack holder–is clinging onto an Annie’s Homegrown snack pack. Which totally makes sense, since Bey is all about eating healthy and saving the planet. Of course she’s feeding her children organic.
It’s unclear exactly which Annie’s Homegrown snack pack Blue is enjoying–it could be crackers or fruit snacks–but my bet is that the Carter family is a fan of Cheddar Bunnies. Why? Because they’re the best. And Carters only associate themselves the best.
Next up: the juice box. It’s been a while since I sipped on sugar through a plastic straw, but I was confident I could crack the case. (Get it? Cause juice boxes usually come in a case? I’ll stop soon, I promise.)
I knew organic was important to Bey, so I started my hunt with a simple Google image search: “Organic Juice Boxes.” Scrolling through pages (and pages and pages) of photos, I noticed one brand–Apple & Eve– featured the blue cloud imagery I’d identified from the zoomed in photo.
I visited the brand’s website to continue my search, settling upon one suspect: Fruitables Fruit Punch. The product is described as “a delicious blend of juicy apples, pineapples, cherries, sweet potato, and butternut squash. Not too sweet. Not too tart. Deliciousness the whole family will enjoy.” This is definitely it.
Annie’s Homegrown Cheddar Bunnies washed down with the sweet syrupy goodness of Apple & Eve’s Fruitables Fruit Punch? If this snack combo is worthy of a princess like Blue Ivy, it’s more than good enough for me. (Hey Bey, are you free to hold my juice box?)
