Emmys 2015: The 25 best dressed on the red carpet
Between Amy Schumer giving her makeup artist a shout-out during her acceptance speech and John Hamm finally winning the coveted Best Actor in a Drama Series award, let’s just say a lot went down at last night’s Emmy Awards—red carpet included.
It was surprising to see that black was the shade of choice for a big award show like the Emmys. But A-list stars proved that it just never gets old (despite what OITNB suggests). Six-time Emmy award-winning actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus stepped out in a one-shoulder Safiyaa gown, while Julie Bowen and Taraji P. Henson showed off shoulders in Georges Chakra and Alexander Wang, respectively. And can we just take a moment to talk about how amazing Mother Monster Lady Gaga pulled of a classic black gown that oozed old-Hollywood glam?
But not everyone opted for the dark shade last night. Pink was just as favoured. While a few celebs like Elisabeth Moss and Uzo Adubo (who became the first actress to win an award from both the comedy and drama categories for the same role) opted for fuchsia, Emma Roberts and Joanna Newsom kept things on the softer side with blush-pink tones.
Other notable mentions go to January Jones in a jade-green Ulyana Sergeenko jumpsuit and Kiernan Shipka in a playful and chic Dior Couture ensemble. Sofia Vergara and Lena Headey sparkled up the night in glittery numbers, but we couldn’t keep our eyes off of Kerry Washington who may be the first celeb to wear a Spring 2016 number on the red carpet.
From Christina Hendricks in Naeem Khan to Laverne Cox in Calvin Klein, we round up the 25 best-dressed stars on the Emmys 2015 red carpet. Who was your fave?
