Everything You Need to Know About Apple’s New iPhones
Today, Apple unveiled its new launches at a keynote event in California – specifically three new iPhones, called the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Available in six colours (purple, white, yellow, green, black, and PRODUCTRED), iPhone 11 features a 6.1 liquid retina display with spatial audio that provides a theatre-like experience when watching videos. Easily the most exciting thing about the new phone, however, is its dual camera. The dual camera features a new wide camera and an ultra-wide camera with 120 degree field of vision. The new interactive camera interface shows users what is outside of the frame and allows them to easily switch to the ultra-wide camera with just a tap. In video mode, users can toggle the zoom wheel to switch between the two. It has also introduced QuickTap, a new feature that allows users to switch tap and hold the shutter button whilst taking a photo to switch to video mode without changing frames. The phone is also water- and dust-resistant, has faster Face ID and wireless charging capabilities. Finally, for the first time ever, the iPhone 11 has the capability to record slow motion video from the updated front true depth camera, enabling users to create what the brand is calling a #Slofie. Prices will start at $979.
Tim Cook appeared on stage to tell the crowd that they “didn’t stop there” – introducing the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max, which Tim called the “most powerful and most advanced iPhones we have ever built.” The iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are made using surgical grade stainless steel and the back of the phone is made using a single piece of glass in a matte finish. They are available in midnight green, space grey, silver and gold and have a 5.8 inch Super Retina XDR display. The 11 Pro has an extra four hours of battery life than the iPhone XS, whilst the Pro Max has an extra five compared to the iPhone XS Max. Most impressive, however, is the triple-camera system that offers ultra-wide, wide and telephoto lenses to deliver the highest quality video in a smartphone. The iPhone 11 Pro will start at $1,379, whilst the iPhone 11 Pro Max will start at $1,519. They will be available to preorder from Friday September 13 before going on sale on September 20.

According to the brand, the watch is power-efficient and still offers 18 hours of use. The new watch has an in-built compass, as well as international emergency calling which can be activated by pressing the side button without needing the iPhone present. The new models are also made using 100% recycled aluminum and will be introduced in grey titanium and white ceramic, as well as space black stainless steel in the Hermés range.
It also announced that AppleTV+ will be available from November 1 for just $5.99 a month. At launch, it will be available in over 100 countries. At the event, Tim Cook also premiered the trailer for another Apple original show, See, starring Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa. There is also a 7th generation iPad, which has been created with 100% recyclable aluminum for the first time (and begins at just $429), and a brand new gaming platform called Arcade.
