Fashion + Charity: Two Become One With This Victoria Beckham-Designed Spice Girls Tee
Ever seen the Spice Girls with giant red noses? You have now. Former Posh Spice Victoria Beckham has designed a limited edition t-shirt featuring the five iconic singers—sporting red clown noses—in support of global charity Red Nose Day’s annual campaign to end child poverty.
Retailing at USD 35, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these t-shirts—available on Omaze.com/Victoria—goes towards bettering the lives of children in the United States, Puerto Rico, and poverty-stricken communities in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
“I’ve seen firsthand how Red Nose Day USA has touched the lives of millions of children — it’s been a true inspiration for me,” said Beckham, who has supported the organization since it launched in the UK twenty years ago, in a campaign statement. “I was honoured to design this shirt and promote the message of Girl Power to young women and children around the world. Every t-shirt sold helps this incredible cause continue to ensure all children receive the love, care, and support they need.”
In a post about the organisation on her Instagram page, the designer said, “I travelled to Kenya and saw amazing programs supported by Red Nose Day USA. Girls in these programs are using boxing classes to not only learn self defense, but also leadership – tapping into their girl power. I was so inspired by the young women I met there. And it’s not just about being strong in the ring; these girls are future doctors, lawyers, and all around game changers who write their own stories, and will shape the futures of their communities. That’s girl power.”
