Lindsay Lohan was a no-show this morning at the Ungaro show in Paris. The details are still hazy but we’re gulping down the juicy gossip: WWD has reported that Lilo does still hold the title of artistic director, while chairman Asim Abdullah reported backstage that she was not involved in the Fall 2010 collection. We don’t discuss the federal budget too much here on FASHION Diaries. In fact, this is probably a first: The 2010 budget, announced Friday by finance minister Jim Flaherty, includes the elimination of import duties—that had sometimes been up to 14 per cent—on raw materials used to manufacture apparel. Rumours of Gareth Pugh taking on the role of Creative Director at Alexander McQueen can be put to rest. A statement from the designer’s PR said this morning, “Further to speculative reports, Gareth Pugh is not in discussions with Gucci Group about a creative director role at Alexander McQueen.” [Vogue UK]
Coco Rocha is rarin’ to go, announcing her engagement last week and her wedding date this week, to take place in just three months! We have a feeling that the boxing match between the European fashion weeks and Anna Wintour is still in the ring and all set for a third round after Wintour was spotted this morning at Stella McCartney in Paris. The Vogue editor had cut her fashion week stints in Milan and Paris short in order to attend the Oscars, and yet seems to have extended her stay in Europe. Evan Biddell isn’t on the schedule at the upcoming LG Fashion Week, though the FDCC says he’s still participating in some way. Next week, the Project Runway alum is opening a boutique on Ossington, dubbed Oz Studio Boutique, with photographer Joseph Fuda. [Toronto Life]
Karl Lagerfeld has been chosen to shoot the next Pirelli calendar. He already has the location scouted–his studio in Paris. The Kaiser says it’s ” too obvious to have a beach setting.” [WWD]
