People are whispering because Yves Saint Laurent’s creative director Stefano Pilati was absent from the Metropolitan Opera Gala in New York–a big YSL-sponsored event–but the company CEO  said at the dinner that the designer is simply busy working on the next collection in Paris. BCBG and John Frieda are teaming up to go on a cross-country tour around the US in a souped-up 18-wheeler that has been transformed into a salon, complete with styling stations, a receptionist and a waiting area. Marchesa has done a collaboration with bridal registry favourite Lenox to create “a couture tabletop collection” that includes china patterns inspired by the label’s dresses. Stemware and gift ware to come. [Coco Perez]

Hudson is launching a high-end couture collection, named Resurrection, that is handmade from recycled denim and can be yours for US$995 price tag. Basically the company is sewing up a textile made from bits of repurposed denim and then cutting pairs from that, so each is one of a kind. And they’re almost $1,000. Did we mention that? [Vogue UK]

H&M has announced their festival collection, which debuts May 20. It includes clothes and accessories, as well as a red, leopard-print tent and a paisley sleeping bag and 25 per cent of sales will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS awareness projects. [Fabsugar]
