Fashion has always pushed the limits of our imaginations (and our bank accounts). Looking to snag your own Hermès Birkin bag? You’ll need $50,000 and the patience to wait on a five-year waiting list. And while by now most people are aware of those rules, it looks like even most ready-to-wear designers are upping the exorbitant ante on the runway as well. Take Rodarte’s Spring 2015 collection for instance, which features a $25,300 dress. Granted, the mermaid-inspired gown features lace, pearls and Swarovski crystal but it begs the question: how many of us will be dropping that kind of coin?
Aside from the oil-rich of the Middle East, we’re not too sure. In any case, we’ve decided to add insult to injury with this list of crazy expensive fashions you wish you had but can never afford.
