First Look at J.W. Anderson’s New Collaboration With Converse
Less than two months after announcing a collection with Japanese retailer, Uniqlo, J.W. Anderson has taken on a brand new project with American favourite, Converse shoes.
Anderson unveiled the collab at his Spring 2018 menswear show in Florence, Italy, and in doing so, confirmed the sneaker as today’s most ubiquitous accessory. Anderson paired his kicks with a series of runway looks, ranging from the Canadian tuxedo to the classic trench coat.
Anderson injected vibrant blues and greens into his versions of the Chuck Taylor, but toned down other styles with warm neutrals, and two-tone textures while mainting the laid back Converse ethos and its famous star logo.
In an interview with Business of Fashion Anderson revealed a fresh desire to project more of his personal style into his work.
“It’s how I see myself in the summer, or how I want to be in the summer. It’s a character that is a fantasy of myself and a self portrait of what I’m into and what I wear.”
We think this new approach could fair well for him. The J.W. Anderson x Converse collection hits stores in the fall.
