Glossier is Reformulating their Perfecting Skin Tint
When it was launched four years ago, Glossier’s Perfecting Skin Tint quickly became a cult favourite and after reviewing customer feedback, their formula is receiving a more inclusive update.
The idea behind their Perfecting Skin Tint is “more skin, less makeup”, a mantra that suits their beauty ideology, and is illustrated in the product’s sheer, dewy formula, but according to a customer service email shared on Allure, technical changes have also been made. A brand representative stated, “Our goal was to fix some of the issues we faced with our previous formula without compromising the look and effect of toned, smooth, dewy skin. The new formula is the same sheer and breathable one you know and love- just with some improvements”.
Some of these improvements include updated pigment treatments to prevent shifting, improved film-formers to hydrate skin, and cork oat to avoid water loss. However, on top of all the technical improvements that have already been made, they announced that they’ll also be increasing their current limited shade range beyond five options.
Many have labelled it the ‘Fenty Effect’, and other prominent beauty brands, such as Covergirl, Dior, and Maybelline, have also all expanded their shade ranges following Rihanna’s groundbreaking launch of her 40 shade foundation line.
“Inclusivity is one of our core values at Glossier, and we want everyone to experience our products”.
More Perfecting Skin Tint shades will be available within the next year, although they have yet to specify just how many more shades will be added.
