Happy Pride! Here are 10 Beauty Products that Support the LGBTQ Community

June is Pride month, and what better way to celebrate, than by getting glammed up with some new goodies and supporting a cause that’s important to you at the same time. Here are a few of our favourites, from glittery eyeshadows to a holographic “Pride Pack”.

Reigning Men Space Jam (Limited Edition for Charity)

Each year, Lemonhead LA releases a limited-edition product for Pride, and this year they’re staying on-trend with an Ultra Violet purple glitter, which pays tribute to Pantone’s Color of the Year. Five dollars of every jar bought will be donated to GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization.

Artist Color Pencil: Eye, Lip & Brow Pencil

Make Up For Ever teamed up with the Hetrick-Martin Institute this year to create a whopping 39 new shades of their Artist Color face pencils. They’re asking people to share their makeup creations on social media, tagging @makeupforeverus and @hetrick-martin and using the hashtag, #AcceptedAnywhere. For each post, MUFE will donate $10 to the Hetrick-Martin Institute, an advocacy group for the LGBTQ community, until June 16th.

Consonant is donating 100% of the profits from this peppermint and almond oil lip balm to the Bill 7 Award Trust, a Canadian charity that provides scholarships to disadvantaged LGBTQ students pursuing post-secondary education.

Milk Makeup is donating 50% of its Pride Pack profits for the month of June to The Center, which supports the LGBTQ community in New York. This pack is also perfect for pride celebrations, with a glittery lip gloss (which also seems to make a great highlighter and eyeshadow) and an equality tattoo stamp, so you can show your support all over your body.

They donate 5% of their profits year-round to multiple organizations, you can even go on their website and suggest non-profits that are important to you. Currently, they’re supporting Callen Lorde, an LGBTQ health centre in New York and the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, which works to guarantee that all people are able to proudly self-determine their gender identity and expression.

Real Her has always championed women, donating 20% of its proceeds to the American Association of University Women (AAUW). But this year for Pride 2018, Real Her will also be donating 20% of proceeds from their pride collection to the LGBT Centre of Orange County.

MAC Cosmetics is basically synonymous with Pride, sponsoring nine events this year, including marches in New York and Los Angeles. This year, the company is giving each of its full-time employees a $25 voucher to donate to a LGBTQ non-profit of their choice. Purchase one of their Viva Glam lipsticks, and support the MAC Aids fund. One hundred per cent of proceeds go to the charity which has raised over $400 million dollars to date.
