Helping Japan: Participate in Global PechaKucha Day!

This Saturday, April 16th at the Design Exchange, Toronto will participate in Global PechaKucha Day along with more than a dozen cities around the world.

Born in Tokyo in 2003, PechaKucha (Japanese for “chit chat”) Is a forum for the design community to meet, network and showcase its work. The simple ‘show-and-tell’ format of 20 images x 20 seconds/image will cover three themes: “Inspire Japan”, “The Issues” and “Recovery.” Shirley Yoon will present the quintessential Japanese aesthetic that she describes as anti-fashion. Other presenters include Jeremy Vandermeij from the Gladstone Hotel, Paddy Harrington of Bruce Mau Design and FASHION’s own PR gal extraordinaire, Karen Cleveland.

The event is open to the public all donations (suggested $15 at the door) benefit Architecture for Humanity. Doors open 7pm, presentations begin 7:30pm.
