Holt Renfrew fêtes Fausto Puglisi with an underground party during fashion week
The case for streamlining may be gaining steam, but what’s fashion without a little glitz? Nada, according to Italian designer Fausto Puglisi, who has taken Milan by storm since launching his wildly embellished, ‘80s-inspired (and totally Versace-esque) collections just two years ago. In such a short time, he’s caught the eye of everyone from Kate Hudson to Rita Ora to Jennifer Aniston and appeared on our cover not once, but twice. Retailers are also picking him up—and fast!—with Holt Renfrew trumpeting his Spring 2015 collection with an underground party just in time for the designer’s Toronto visit.
The event gave local Puglisi enthusiasts the chance to brighten a dreary March day by wearing his colourful pieces—namely socialite Sylvia Mantella, who reached back into the designer’s Fall 2014 with her mirror-embellished vibrant mini skirt. Puglisi’s palm tree prints and vibrant combos also appeared on partygoers elsewhere in the room, many of whom were charmed by the designer and his strapping entourage happily chatting the night away.
