Fashion and pets often go hand-in-hand: There’s Linda Rodin’s cuddly poodle, Winky, Marc Jacobs’ bull terrier, Neville, and—obvi—Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette. Not to mention Rose-Marie Swift and Miranda Kerr’s Yorkshire terrier, Frankie (they have shared custody). The list goes on, and on, and we at FASHION are no strangers to having super-high levels of affection for our own furry friends. So, in honour of National Pet Day, may we introduce you to our canine and feline family members.

“This is my Australian Kelpie, Ella. She is a rescue and such a smarty pants. Her breed ‘smiles,’ as you can see here when she was having a chill girls’ weekend at the cottage. We love her the most.”

“Although my 11-year-old cat, Dora, embodies this meme to the point where I seriously can’t even, she’s funny, and has recently taken to cuddling in bed with me at night, which is quite rare.”

“This is Gracie—she lived at my mom’s but was terrified of her three dogs and other cat. So my boyfriend and I ‘saved’ her and now she rules our home. She was really shy at first and always hid under our bed, but she’s really coming into her own. This is her professional headshot; she is her photographer father’s muse.”

“Roadie’s not a very well trained dog (at 4 years old, he still has accidents all the time), and at a tender 5.5 lbs, his Napoleon complex is pretty out of control—but we wouldn’t change anything about him! My favourite part of the day is coming home and talking to him about how handsome he is. I can tell he agrees.”

“Whether she’s poking her head up underneath my computer or playing peek-a-boo from behind the screen, little Mylo can be quite the distraction when working from home.”

“This is Zora, Hugo and Boss. All are German Shepherds and from the same breeder. Zora will soon be my new roomie and we can’t wait to spend girl time together and paint our nails. Hugo is 2.5 and Boss is 7.5—both are technically my fur brothers. The youngest of the pack, Hugo, is surprisingly the largest. If you want to hang out with them in the park, make sure your knees are bent to avoid being toppled over during a game of chase.”

“Oreo, the oldest of two shih-tzus in the Tse residence, understands both English and Cantonese. He likes to be independent and observe from high viewing spots. He comes to you when he needs some love. It does not work the other way around. Compliments like “handsome” and “pretty” are always welcomed. He and squirrels have an ongoing territorial battle.”
