Inside Michael Kors and Tatler‘s English Roses 2017 Party in London’s Saatchi Gallery
Michael Kors, the man behind the ubiquitous brand, probably said it best. “London loves a good party.” He should know, since he threw one the night before to celebrate the opening of Tatler’s English Roses, an immersive exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery that displayed editorial in Tatler’s August issue. As the man who dressed many of the women in the exhibit, he was a little too busy to chat at the party, so we caught up with him the next day. “Last night, the energy, and everyone looking so great—they really enjoyed themselves,” he said. “And also, in London you see such a mix of people, it’s great people watching. You could have just sat last night, watching.”
He was right, of course. The party was saturated with style and socialites. Even for a Canadian guest—who maybe didn’t recognize the names of the 26 rising British stars featured in the project—the event felt like the very definition of posh.
It’s possible, what with Canada Day just on the horizon, you weren’t able to hop on a plane to London in time for the party, and so you missed out on the priceless people watching. Luckily, we have some pics from the event. Consider it inspiration for your next summer soiree. (And be sure to look for more of our interview with Michael Kors in our September issue).
