Introducing Burberry’s holiday campaign, starring… everyone
If this is what Christmas in November looks like we are definitely ready. Burberry has enlisted some of the biggest British names in the industry to help recreate the opening scene from the musical turned movie, Billy Elliot.
The 3-minute film, starring models Naomi Campbell, Romeo Beckham, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and her brother Toby Huntington-Whiteley; musicians Elton John, James Bay and George Ezra; late-night host James Corden and actresses Julie Walters and Michelle Dockery will launch 7:00 PM this evening (2:00 PM EST) at Burberry’s flagship store in London. But don’t worry, for those of us staying put in Canada, Burberry is also showing it across all of its social media platforms as well.
The stills were shot by Mario Testino and with an amazingly vibrant cast channeling such an iconic piece of British pop culture the pairing hits that perfect tone of everything that makes you excited for the holiday season. “Billy Elliot is an incredible film full of so much joy and energy, so it was a real thrill and a great honour to be able to celebrate its 15 year anniversary through our Festive campaign” said Bailey. Also taking a cue from the film (those involved established a legacy of charitable support for the local community where the film took place), Burberry is donating over $720,000 to two charities, Place2Be and the County Durham Community Foundation, which focus on reducing barriers to education, training and employment in the local area. None of the campaign stars received payment for their participation opting to have their earnings donated to the cause as well.
With glitter, nutcrackers and countless cozy Burberry scarves everywhere this festive campaign has set the holiday bar very high.
