Is Drake the New Oprah?
He calls himself Champagne Papi, 6ix God, Drizzy and Wheelchair Jimmy — but this week, Drake has been acting more like Oprah. In just three days, the 30-year-old actor turned rapper has distributed $175,000 worth of Lotto Max style novelty cheques in the Miami area. Because, in the always wise words of Drake, “me and my friends we got money to spend…”
In one instance, the famed Toronto ambassador dropped off cheque worth $50,000 to a women’s homeless shelter.
Big up @Drake for donating $50,000 to a women and children's homeless shelter in Miami. ? #GodsPlan

In another, he gave a scholarship cheque to a student at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. “Drake told me that he has read great things about me and appreciates how hard I’ve worked through so many trials and decided to give me $50K for my tuition,” the recipient of the scholarship wrote.
And in a third documented case of OTT generosity, Drake offered up $25,000 to the Miami-area high school where he was filming part of his new music video, “God’s Plan.” But that’s not even the best part: he also promised the school new uniforms designed by his record label turned lifestyle brand October’s Very Own. An OVO branded school uniform? That’s priceless.
Where's the fire? @CityofMiamiFire rushes to @miamiseniorhigh. What's the emergency? @Drake in the flesh, burning hot with words of encouragement and a $25,000 check. pic.twitter.com/jlfW3T80DH

And that’s not all! One day later, Drake picked up the tab for an entire grocery store. At Sabor Tropical Supermarket, Drake purchased $50,000 in food (and drinks!) for the lucky customers who were doing their shopping.
We’re glad our Canadian boy is spreading love and cash south of the border. But just hold on, you’re coming home soon — right Drake?
