Is it Okay that Rebel Wilson Wore a Different Top than her Pitch Perfect 3 Co-stars?
The cast of Pitch Perfect 3 is teasing us with behind-the-scenes photos of their upcoming film—and they’re leaving a bad taste with some. The problem? Not everyone is wearing the same sailor suit…
Most of the Barden Bellas on set are seen wearing teeny-tiny striped halter tops, while the two plus-size stars of the group, Rebel Wilson and Ester Dean, are shown in cap-sleeve, scoop-neck look-a-likes. People noticed, and they’re accusing the film of size discrimination.
According to Refinery 29, one user commented on Wilson’s photo: “Your top should be the same. We all know you are the most delicious chick there.”
And she’s right. Women of all sizes are sexy and should be able to show a little (or a lot!) of skin if they want to. Just look at that smize! If that’s not sex appeal, idk what is.
The film’s costume designer, Salvador Perez, has since taken to Twitter to address the backlash. According to Perez, each cast member was allowed to decide which top to wear.
@TeenVogue, I let each actor decide how their costume fit, it was their choice, Rebel, Ester & Hana Mae wanted sleeves, #sleevegate https://t.co/rXa8URUFd0

Women should be able to wear whatever makes them comfortable. Sleeves or no sleeves, no one is questioning the confidence of this fierce group of ladies.
