Jennifer Aniston’s Famous Friends Welcomed Her to Instagram in the Best Way
Trust Jennifer Aniston to break the internet. In the 24 hours since she made her Instagram debut with a selfie with the cast of FRIENDS, she caused the platform to crash, gained 8 million followers, and might have broken Meghan and Harry’s Guinness record of fastest account to reach a million followers—they reached the number in under six hours, and Aniston might just have them beat (jury’s out).
She also gave us the gift of watching Hollywood collectively lose their minds over her (fashionably late) entry into the world of social media.
Jennifer Garner welcomed Aniston with an IGTV video recreating the famous trivia game episode from the show’s fourth season, using a LEGO Friends set of course.
David Schwimmer took the opportunity to share what is only his third post on the platform, going the LEGO route as well.
Courteney Cox welcomed her BFF to the platform with a selfie of the two of them, and a caption inspired by a line in the very first episode of FRIENDS, 25 years ago: “Welcome to the real world. It sucks. You’re gonna love it!”
Reese Witherspoon, Aniston’s co-star in the upcoming Apple TV+ show Morning Show (and former on-screen sister), shared a post rejoicing the fact that she could now tag the star in FRIENDS memes.
Amy Sedaris, Whitney Cummings, Dolly Parton, James Corden and other famous faces all welcomed Aniston to the platform with their own celebratory posts, and a slew of others—including Justin Theroux, Olivia Wilde and Kerry Washington—left comments on her debut post (which already has over 9 million likes).
The only thing that’s left now is for the last remaining friend, Matthew Perry, to join Instagram and the circle is complete.
