Jimmy Fallon, Ed Sheeran and The Roots Jam to ‘Shape of You’ on Classroom Instruments
When it comes to naming talk show musical videos that we watch on the regular, there are a few that come to mind. However, if we had to name our fave, Jimmy Fallon’s Classroom Instruments segment for The Tonight Show definitely tops the list. With former performers like Adele, Mariah Carey and Metallica jamming to their biggest hits on kid-friendly instruments from our kindergarten days, what’s not to love?
The latest A-lister to come aboard? Ed Sheeran. With the help of Fallon and The Roots, the chart-topping British artist showed off his vocal skills with his latest hit “Shape of You” while jamming to classroom instruments. Sheeran was in charge of vocals (obv) and a banana-shaped shaker, while the rest of the band played on everything from a rainbow xylophone to a mini keyboard to a tambourine. Band leader Quest Love even took out a kazoo at one point. But we have to hand it to the talk show host. Proving how multi-talented he is, Fallon killed the performance while juggling blocks, keyboard and bass drums. Did we mention he also did back-up vocals? Honestly, what can’t Fallon do?
So in case you were looking for something to make your day, watch the below video and be prepared to grin from ear to ear.
