Jonathan Adler x Clinique is Fêted At The Designer’s Shelter Island Home
Decorated in tones of brown and orange, with a giant macramé owl hanging from floor to ceiling in the living room, Jonathan Adler’s beachfront home on Shelter Island in the Hamptons is an homage to the ’70’s. It was here where the potter and designer recently hosted a lunch to celebrate his limited edition collaboration with a Clinique. “There’s a Yiddish word, ‘bashert’ and it means it was meant to be,” says Adler about the partnership. “I strive to make design fresh and crisp and to me, Clinique is like lemon sorbet for the skin,” he says as to why he felt the two American brands aligned. “It feels fresh, natural and young.”
Featuring many of the brand’s best selling products, the collection incorporates one of Adler’s signature geometric patterns throughout the packaging. Among the nine lipstick shades, three are new, and inspired by Adler’s favourite travel destinations: Capri, Palm Beach and Santorini. The tubes also include a cabochon on their caps, which is a riff on Adler’s Globo Collection.
Available exclusively at The Bay, the items will soon be gone, just as surely as our summer will be.
