Kate Middleton and Prince William have Ikea Furniture at Kensington Palace
There isn’t typically much common ground between the lives of royals and those of us, you know, common folk but turns out there are some things we can relate to after all. Case in point: it was revealed on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Sweden tour that they—are you ready?—have Ikea furniture at Kensington Palace.
That’s right. On their visit to ArkDes, an architecture and design museum in Stockholm, Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly told Ikea’s head of design, Marcus Engman, that they’ve got pieces from the company in their children’s rooms.
“I’m proud that we can suit everybody,” said Engman. “That’s what we want Ikea to be — for the many people of the world, both royalty and ordinary people.”
Now we highly doubt that the royal family has to ever experience the woes of furniture assembly (they’ve probably got a butler, or ten, to do that for them) but at least we can all say we’ve shopped at the same place as Will and Kate.
