Kate Middleton baby countdown: Will Prince William be playing polo when the royal baby is born?
We’re just three days away from Kate Middleton’s due date (that is, the July 13 date that’s been widely speculated yet never verified by the palace) and it seems there may be a hitch in the Duchess of Cambridge’s birth plan. Today is reporting that the Prince William is scheduled to play in a charity polo match on Sunday—one that is taking place two hours outside of London.
While Kate is supposed to be in Kensington Palace this weekend (due to its proximity to St. Mary Hospital) William’s polo plans take him to Gloucestershire. The Jerudong Trophy Match—which both he and Prince Harry participated in last year—raises funds for two of the Cambridge’s charities: Centrepoint and Child Bereavement UK. Considering that the royal family isn’t exactly known for scheduling conflicts, we think this may be a sign that Kate’s due date is actually later than July 13.
And, because a meeting with your grandmother is only headline-worthy news when she’s the Queen of England, US Weekly magazine has revealed that Prince William had a “secret” meeting with the Queen last week. (Considering that the royal baby is being delivered by the Queen’s personal surgeon-gynecologist, there really can’t be that many secrets in the family, right?) Perhaps William was getting a last-minute blessing on popular baby names or being briefed on Monday’s news about the little one’s official title. Either way, we’ll continue to speculate about baby Alexandra Victoria or George James all week long.
