Kate Middleton pays tribute on Remembrance Day in Alexander McQueen

This weekend, the Duchess of Cambridge blessed us with not one, but two appearances to appease our sartorial obsession. Kate’s first appearance with Prince William was a visit to the Pembroke Oil Refinery in Wales where she wore a stunning pale blue Matthew Williamson double-breasted coat. Underneath she sported a chocolate brown Hobbs London dress featuring an animal-print embossed silk jacquard, in which she finished the look with a pair of Aquatalia Rhumba boots and a black Stuart Weitzman clutch. The duo later attended a Rugby Union International match between Wales and Australia (did we mention we also like the glorious game of Rugby?).
The second appearance was to pay her respects at this year’s National Service of Remembrance held at the Cenotaph in Whitewall, London. Kate, alongside the Duchess of Cornwall and the Countess of Wessex, watched from a protocolled distance as Prince William, Prince Harry and Queen Elizabeth led the ceremonial services laying their wreathes in remembrance of those who gave their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today. The Duchess appropriately selected black for the occasion, opting for an Alexander McQueen double-breasted flared wool coat with an exaggerated collar. She re-purposed her black Jane Corbett hat, which she wore to the 2011 ceremonies, and finished the look with a glass poppy pin she received while on tour in Australia earlier this year.
Set to make two more appearances this week, you can rest easy because we’ll be sure to keep the Kate Middleton updates coming.
