Kate Middleton’s brooch takes the spotlight at RAF Air Cadets

When you’re Kate Middleton, shopping your closet is actually fun because you can rekindle the high fashion flames that burned bright when you wore it the first time around. This past weekend the Duchess of Cambridge did just that, dusting off her custom-made Alexander McQueen coat (she first wore the cornflower-blue belted topper while visiting New Zealand in 2014) for the 75th anniversary celebration of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets in London. Paired with a chic Lock and Co. hat and navy suede Gianvito Rossi pumps, K-Mid stayed true blue to her “I’m a Royal but I recycle” MO. But like any stylista, royal or otherwise, she knows that accessories are the ultimate outfit game changer. As Honorary Air Commandant of the organization, Middleton wore her Dacre brooch (the highest award for a female cadet), a gift from the troop following her appointment. Meaningful and mega-dazzling—the perfect touch for a topper that’s catapulted back into the spotlight. Needless to say, our girl is flying high again.
