Kate Middleton wears recycled Sportmax for her trip to Edinburgh

Ok, so we’re just going to say it—we’re green with envy over Kate Middleton’s super chic, super sophisticated Sportmax coat. The Duchess of Cambridge (a.k.a. Countess of Strathearn in Scotland) wore the forest green belted topper on her first solo viz to Edinburgh, where she spent the day touring three school-based charity projects.
If you’re having outerwear déjà vu, you’re not alone. We first saw Middleton in the Sportmax coat looking festive on Christmas Day 2015. Known for recycling ready-to-wear looks, the Duchess gave it a fresh spin in Edinburgh with a classic black turtleneck sweater, a houndstooth kilt by cool Scottish label Le Kilt, Stuart Weitzman’s black suede Power pumps (her fave), gold and diamond leaf earrings by Kiki McDonough and a sleek black suede Mulberry clutch. Is forest green the new black? When it’s given the royal treatment à la K Mid, it just might signal the changing of the guard.
Later that day, Middleton traded in her Sportmax for an ath-chic look made for the gym: a Nike top, Monreal London track pants and a pair of pastel Asics trainers. The royal showed off her racquet skills for Tennis On The Road, a coaching clinic led by Andy Murray’s mom Judy that aims to grow “the game at a grassroots level.” Something tells us tennis camps everywhere will have wait lists this summer. Ah, the power of a princess.
