Kesha Announces Launch of Eponymous Vegan Beauty Line
You’ll have yet another celebrity beauty line to shop in 2020, with popstar Kesha announcing today that she’s releasing her own range next month.
Kesha Rose Beauty, launching on December 3, will include a 12-pan eyeshadow palette, two dual-ended waterproof eyeliners, a red lipstick and a lip gloss, as well as two bundles with all the products (one comes with a note from Kesha herself). All of the products are vegan, clean and cruelty-free. According to WWD, the line – which has been in the works for about a year – could bring in USD$5 million in its first year.
The launch of the makeup range comes ahead of the highly-anticipated drop of her latest album, High Road, in January. The singer hinted at Kesha Rose Beauty in the video for her newest single Raising Hell, in which she wears the products.
Speaking with WWD, Kesha said her love of makeup has evolved throughout her career. “I feel like my face has been used to try so many different products over the years and I love the transforming thing that makeup can do and [how] you feel more beautiful. I also love how much fun I have had playing with makeup my entire career and my entire life.”
The star adds that her enjoyment of cosmetics is about more than just the outward finished look. “My relationship to makeup is not purely to make me feel perfect or beautiful or filtered. It’s more to make me feel like my authentic insides are being shown on the outside.” It’s a message that the Tik Tok singer hopes to also bring to her fans as they wear the line. “Sometimes with beauty, it feels like the goal is perfection. With my line, that’s not the goal. My goal is happiness.” In a YouTube video announcing the project, she added, “Perfect is not real, and normal is boring. When you get my makeup, I just want you to play and have fun.”
