Knixwear’s Latest Body-Positive Fashion Show Proves ‘Every Woman is an Angel’
Knixwear is continuing to promote body positivity, this time with an inclusive fashion show featuring women of all ages, races and sizes.
Dubbed “Everyone Woman Is An Angel” (a direct response to Victoria’s Secret ‘Angels’ who are notoriously known for fitting into very rigid body standards), the Canadian activewear company’s show took place at the newly-opened Knix x BOLO House (128 Peter Street in Toronto) — a multipurpose space created in collaboration with Knixwear and fitness professional Caleigh Rykiss where guests can workout, hang out and shop the latest Knixwear products.
The fashion show featured 20 different women (cast through a social media callout) who strutted their stuff down the streets of Toronto in their Knixwear, stopping to pose in front of an angel wing mural by Kelsey Montague to, indeed, prove every woman is an angel.
“At Knixwear we believe that every woman is worthy and women of all shapes and sizes look beautiful in our products. We wanted to do a fashion show to demonstrate exactly that in real life,” Joanna Griffiths, Knixwear’s CEO, told FASHION via e-mail. “We proved IRL that women of all shapes, sizes, ages and backgrounds are beautiful and worthy… There are no better models or spokespeople for Knixwear than our customers and no one better to demonstrate what body confidence and comfort look like.”
